Citibeats this month will join hundreds of innovators working on emerging technologies, business leaders, startup entrepreneurs, policymakers, and civil society representatives for the annual Global Technology Governance Retreat, a three-day summit held by the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR).

The Global Technology Governance Retreat held its first event in 2017 and was founded in the wake of escalating global conflicts and seeks to support technological and digital transformation pioneers in shaping modern solutions.

Hosted by the World Economic Forum (WEF), the summit aims to facilitate networking, build shared principles, devise needed solutions, and raise public momentum. The event will take place between June 21 and 23 at WEF’s Presidio campus in San Francisco, California. Innovators will engage in conversations about artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, agricultural technology, data policy, and smart cities, among other important topics.

Representing Citibeats will be Chief Technology Officer Abby Seneor, a versatile entrepreneur, technology expert, and leading voice in artificial intelligence.

“There is a saying by Klaus Schwab, WEF Founder: ‘we must develop a comprehensive and globally shared view on how technology is affecting our lives and reshaping our economic, social, cultural and human environment.’ Technology, and especially AI, is becoming increasingly embedded into our lives and traditional economic models are rapidly changing,” Abby Seneor said. “Having a safe space to discuss and meet with the most brilliant minds and top leaders nowadays is the only way we can ensure we do it right. I am very honored and humbled to have this opportunity to be part of this event in such an emerging time.”

With the event being hosted in the United States, Citibeats is eager to explore potential investment opportunities in the states and to learn about innovative resources and incentives offered by federal, state, and local governments at this working retreat.

After recently joining fellow startup finalists at South Summit Madrid, Citibeats looks forward to networking with fellow investors, service providers, and government officials; increasing exposure and branding; and meeting potential clients.

The summit comes as Citibeats deepens its relationship with the World Economic Forum. As part of the collaboration, Citibeats will participate in various WEF events and help advise global leaders on important societal issues during the next two years.
