Three months before adopting the historic climate agreement in Paris in 2015, world leaders formulated a plan to transform society for the better through an initiative whose name belies its lofty ambitions: “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs).

In 2000, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) predicted  that "migration is likely to be a cutting-edge issue in international relations, economics and social order in many countries."

Nearly 80 years since the United Nations established the Commission on the Status of Women, true equality remains stubbornly elusive.

The World Health Organization (WHO) suggests that vaccinations prevent 2 to 3 million deaths per year. But despite their critical role in averting and controlling infectious disease outbreaks, misinformation, confusion, and apprehension dissuade some individuals from getting vaccines. Recognizing public knowledge about vaccines can empower organizations and governments to respond to their questions, counteract misconceptions, and address complaints. 

In 2015, the United Nations (U.N.) introduced the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was built around a framework of 17 interconnected objectives known as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This blueprint sets a path toward a more equitable and sustainable world. However, achieving these goals by 2030 requires aggressive strategic planning built on a foundation of intelligent insight. 

Poverty, climate change, discrimination, globalization, and violence fuel migration. The world is home to over 280 million migrants, or 3.6 percent of the total global population. While COVID-19-related restrictions have impacted migration trends, migrant and refugee issues remain hugely important. 

Around the world, women experience discrimination, inequality, and mistreatment in their public and private lives. This presents major human rights implications. According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO): “For women to be able to fully exercise their human rights, gender perspectives have to be mainstreamed in all inclusive urban policies.”
